In observance of Good Friday, The Gourmet Angel will not distribute free food on Friday, March 29, 2024.  Free food distributions will resume April 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM.

The Gourmet Angel provides healthy and nutritious food options to families throughout the DMV.

Inspired by the life-changing pandemic, COVID-19, The Gourmet Angel Free Meals  was established in April 2020.  Members of the Entrepreneurship Ministry at Alfred Street Baptist Church came together to distribute perishable inventory from restaurant, caterers, and other food - related business owners.

Our initial goal was simply to use this inventory to Feed those in our communities who were adversely impacted by the pandemic. Partnering with Sistas United in Maryland, the organization began preparing and serving free meals every Wednesday , Thursday and Friday to families, seniors, and veterans who registered via Eventbrite or by calling our toll free line.  Meals were distributed by scheduled pick- up from Evangel Assembly of God located at 5900 Old Branch Road.  As time progressed, our team collaborated with Mount Jezreel Baptist Church in Alexandria to continue these efforts in the Commonwealth of Virginia where we continue our mission.

Over the months, our team of professional chefs and volunteers also known as "Our Angels" have tirelessly prepared and delivered free gourmet meals and desserts and distributed thousands of free food boxes to families all across the DMV.

The Gourmet Angel is a NONPROFIT organization with a continuing MISSION to provide healthy Food options to Seniors, Veterans and Families through our Weekly Food Distribution at Mount Jezreel Baptist Church in Alexandria,Virginia.
